Issue 62: Iron Monger -- More Advanced In Every Way

They made Iron Man in every armor seen in the films, and some not seen. They made two War Machines, Whiplash, and even Black Widow. So for Hot Toys to continue the Iron Man figure line it was time to go big or go home, so they go big. Very big. Arriving at homes last week is the biggest Marvel Hot Toys figure to date--Iron Monger! As seen in 2008's Iron Man and with a meticulously detailed head with Jeff Bridges' portrait, it's a big toy, but comes with a big price tag. Issue 56: The Variant Show

Variants! Love 'em or hate 'em, if you collect Hasbro's Avengers figures you have to decide which version of the figure you want, or perhaps you want both! At Wal-Mart, there are variants of the six-inch exclusive Avengers figures. At Target there is a 3.75" set of Avengers figures most of which differ from their single-carded counterparts. And at Costco there is a Quinjet set that not only has a repainted vehicle but also two repainted figures! Civil War is one of the most successful crossover events in Marvel history. Pitting hero against hero, it both fulfilled fanboy fantasies answering the endless "who would win in a fight..." debates, and also providing an intelligent allegory for real-world American politics. Now, as part of the new Marvel prose novel series, the Civil War is being fought again--this time in a streamlined, novelized form. On this issue of Marvleicious Toys, Civil War prose novel author Stuart Moore discusses the genesis of the novel, what it takes to adapt an arc of Civil War's size to a single book, and the future of the Marvel prose novels.
